What Is Keyword Density?

Keyword density is an indicator of the number of times the selected keyword appears in the web page. But mind you, keywords shouldn’t be over used, but should be just sufficient enough to appear at important places.

If you repeat your keywords with every other word on every line, then your site will probably be rejected as an artificial site or spam site.

Keyword density is always expressed as a percentage of the total word content on a given web page.

Suppose you have 100 words on your webpage (not including HMTL code used for writing the web page), and you use a certain keyword for five times in the content. The keyword density on that page is got by simply dividing the total number of keywords, by the total number of words that appear on your web page. So here it is 5 divided by 100 = .05. Because keyword density is a percentage of the total word count on the page, multiply the above by 100, that is 0.05 x 100 = 5%

The accepted standard for a keyword density is between 3% and 5%, to get recognized by the search engines and you should never exceed it.

Remember, that this rule applies to every page on your site. It also applies to not just to one keyword but also a set of keywords that relates to a different product or service. The keyword density should always be between 3% and 5%.

Simple steps to check the density:

Copy and paste the content from an individual web page into a word-processing software program like Word or Word Perfect.
Go to the ‘Edit’ menu and click ‘Select All’. Now go to the ‘Tools’ menu and select ‘Word Count’. Write down the total number of words in the page.
Now select the ‘Find’ function on the ‘Edit’ menu. Go to the ‘Replace’ tab and type in the keyword you want to find. ‘Replace’ that word with the same word, so you don’t change the text.
When you complete the replace function, the system will provide a count of the words you replaced. That gives the number of times you have used the keyword in that page.
Using the total word count for the page and the total number of keywords you can now calculate the keyword density.

When I was a kid, like all other kids, space fascinated me. It was the endless possibility of space, that the idea distances transcend space and time. The rockets that first carried men into space were ugly things, even as a fan of space exploration. Then the space shuttle appeared, and it looked graceful. Never mind that it couldn't reach outer space, or that it flies like a brick. It is beautiful.

Nowadays, instead of the thrill of space, I'm just hoping they come back in one piece. There has been too many jokes of NASA, and news of bad management. Now, there are even reports of character issues of these people who are considered heroes of space flight. All the negative attention and news detracts from the achievement of individuals and the entire organization. When will people realize that nothing is ever perfect? You take the good with the bad, and you still strive towards your goal. Doesn't it say something that even with all the bad practices in place, they still achieve their missions? That is human endeavor in action.

You can either focus on the positive side of things, or all the negative issues. But I can tell you from experience, when you focus on the positive side of things, you can achieve great things. Maybe these are things that no-one outside of your circle know about, but it does not take away the achievement itself. At the end of the day, you are the one you have to live with. Even if you fail in your future endeavors, at the very least, have the courage to give it a shot. Be positive, and you will attract positive people to you. Build a team of individuals that plays of each other's positive vibes, and you will see spectacular results.

This is the first ezine directory I have used, and I still feel happy to have my articles published. Not too many as yet, it has been difficult to find the time to write. Between managing a business, hanging out with my wife and angel girl, it just about takes up all of my time. Still, I am working my way towards Platinum status.

I use EzineArticles for research, to see what people are writing about and to see the standard of writing. I don't want to sound snobbish or anything, but it seems that the standard has dropped somewhat. Some articles are published with spelling and grammer mistakes. Maybe they are more focused on originality these days, or the number of submissions have increased.

You can try EzineArticles as a proving ground for your writing. Perhaps one step closer to being a true writer. A lot of internet marketers make use of ezinearticles, but I feel that non-IM category has better articles. Especially retailing and customer service categories. Makes sense too, as you would expect people from these categories to be professionals in their field. In IM, ghost writing and using PLR are accepted practices, but originality wins hands down every time.

Why do you submit your own articles? It's not that different from blogging, and if you can publish a blog, you already are a writer. The TOS is quite easy to follow. It will certainly give you more credibility as a writer. Besides, writing is fun.

I wanted to call this Blog Cafe, just like the sound of it. Although the origin idea for a blog cafe is a blog directory. Only instead of just listings and links, it will show the thumbnail of the blog, readers can have a glimpse of how the site looks like. The description of the blog will be provided in a table. But before I start doing something I know nothing about (again!), I'll just go with this blogspot first.

This is my fun blog, just writing about things that isn't about making money, or making a living, or about things of that nature. For the last year, I've been online almost every single day, either working on my sites or getting ideas. I collected so much information that it will take me years just to go through. Lately though, I've been taking it easy, surfing around and reading other people's blogs. There are so many interesting things in the blogsphere, and some really entertaining sites.

My lastest find, The Brainy Bimbo, is a wonderfully, readable blog. It helps that it's written by a girl, and I landed on her site on Sunday, and just read through everything. It's that interesting. She's from Singapore, and although I'm from Malaysia, I practically grew up in Singapore. I spent 10 years living there, I went to school there and have many fond memories of that place. But I've not been back there in decades, and the Singapore I knew is no longer the Singapore today. Somethings are better left in the past.

These days I spend my time in Sabah, where nature is just a short walk away. And while making a living takes up a lot of my time, it is still possible to get away from everything. It took me a long time to appreciate Sabah, years after having spent half my life abroad. What's not to love about this place, beautiful beaches and islands, Mount Kinabalu, jungles and mountain ranges. I am of the opinion that living in a city is living an illusion. It's only when you step away from it all that you see the truly meaningful things in life. Sabah is a paradise, and while quirky, there is no place I would rather be ..... except maybe Maui.
